Join the beta testing for iOS
Basic information
I am currently working on making the Morse Code application available on iOS devices. This version is already available to the public, but for now in beta testing. If you are considering joining, the following article describes how to do it.
This will allow you to try out this application on iOS first before it is made available to everyone in the App Store. Most importantly, you will help this application debug any bugs. There may be some, but the application has already been tested, so if they appear, it should only be very rare. If you get any ideas during testing what should be different, or if you have other suggestions, I will certainly welcome them. That will also be very helpful.
For the sake of completeness, I would like to add that both the test version and the future stable versions are free. So I want to release them to the public under the same conditions as for Android and Windows.
All beta versions (the app itself and also all its updates) first go through Apple’s approval process, similar to apps on the App Store. However, this review focuses mainly on security and basic things. The aesthetic side is not examined so much, whether the user interface is exactly in line with Apple’s requirements, etc.
How to do it
- First, you need to download Apple’s TestFlight app. Unfortunately, it is necessary on iPhones and iPads, because it centrally manages all the apps you are testing. You have the option to accept the invitation to test, send feedback if you encounter a problem, or opt out of testing if you no longer want to continue.
- Then click this link containing the test invitation on your iPhone or iPad.
- In the TestFlight app, after opening the invitation, confirm Apple’s terms and conditions and click the install button. The Morse Code app will be installed and you can use it.
When I find a bug
Ideally, please email me at pavel.holecek.4@gmail.com. You can also send your feedback directly via the TestFlight app. Open it, click on Morse Code from the list of tested apps and a page will appear with a “Provide Feedback” button. Optionally, you can also add a screenshot to the message.
How to exit the testing
In the TestFlight app, click on Morse Code in the list of tested apps. This will open a page with details about this app. Scroll all the way down and there is a Stop Testing button. You can also uninstall the Morse Code app like any other. You can also uninstall Apple’s TestFlight if you are not also testing other apps.
